I am Mathew Thomas. I like problem solving and figuring things out. I graduated from Duke University with a Masters in Engineering Management and am currently working as a Data Analytics manager at TIAA where I lead a team of amazing fellow data enthusiasts. I consider myself an analytics engineer and my interests include Machine learning, automation, using data effectively to gain useful insights and Data Visualization. I like learning about how things work at a first principles level and then figuring out how do I adapt myself to learn more about it. While not working I am usually watching live football (Soccer) or highlights of Liverpool F.C. and reading about everything related to the club. Apart from watching I also love playing the beautiful game and continue to participate in pickup leagues.

Why did I create this website?

I created this website to be a “log” of things that I am working on and anything else that I find interesting. I also wanted to learn how to create my own website and this is my first attempt at doing so. Lastly I think this a really good creative outlet for me as I hope to add more content on here and more frequently as well.
